Church Planting is a vital aspect of global Christianity, with various continents experiencing significant growth and development.

Here’s an overview of the current status of church planting across different continents:

AFRICA:

 Africa has become a hub for Christianity, with approximately 599 million Christians, surpassing Latin America. The continent has seen rapid church growth, with many denominations and Organizations actively planting new churches.

LATIN AMERICA: 

Despite having fewer Christians than Africa, Latin America still has a significant Christian population, with around 597 million adherents. Church planting continues to be an essential part of the region’s Christian landscape.

ASIA:

 Asia is home to a diverse range of Christian communities, with many countries experiencing church growth. Southeast Asia, in particular, has seen significant church planting efforts.

EUROPE:

Europe has traditionally been a stronghold of Christianity, but the continent has experienced declining church attendance and membership in recent years. Church planting efforts continue, with a focus on revitalizing existing churches and reaching new communities.

FRAGMENTATION AND UNITY:

The Global Church is fragmented, with approximately 47,000 denominations. However, many organizations are working to promote unity and cooperation among different Christian groups.

Global South: The Center of Christianity is shifting to the Global South, with Africa, Latin America, and Asia experiencing significant church growth.

EVANGELIZATION AND MISSION:

Church planting efforts are the direct fruit of evangelization and mission work with several thousands prioritizing reaching the unreached communities and people groups.

CURRENT EMERGENCY

Approximately 3.42 billion people worldwide live in the unreached groups, with little or no access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Here’s a breakdown by continent:

ASIA: 2.9 billion people in unreached people groups, with countries like India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal having significant unreached populations.

AFRICA: 418 million people in unreached people groups, with many located in North Africa.

EUROPE: 29 million people in unreached people groups, particularly in Eastern Europe and Eurasia.

NORTH AMERICA:18 million people in unreached people groups, with a notable number in the United States.

SOUTH AMERICA: 687,000 people in unreached people groups.

OCEANIA: 452,000 people in unreached people groups, primarily in Australia and the Pacific
